  • What are the physical characteristics of an interactive Sandbox?

    At the moment, the sandbox comes in four versions: Standard, Mini, Small (sand reservoir with projector and depth sensor) and Lite (metal box with projector, depth sensor and PC installed inside).

  • What is best place to install the interactive sandbox?

    Any places, where there are a lot of children: cafes, children's game rooms and playgrounds, cinemas, shopping centers, kindergartens, schools, museums and exhibitions.

  • Which sand is better to use in the interactive sandbox?

    Regular small or medium fraction certified washed river sand. It is not too fine, nice to the touch and does not create a lot of dust. The lighter the sand, the better and brighter the projection. It is recommended to keep sand wet so it is easier to build with. Use UV-lamps once per month to sanitize the sand or change it every 2-3 months (if you think you need to change it). We could help you find local sand supplier in your area.

    Kinetic (polymeric) sand is not recommended, as it is very expensive and turns to stone. The best substitutes for sand are paper pulp, rice or salt.

  • What do I do if the sandbox stops working?

    Please contact our technical support service, and you will get response in less than 24 hours.

  • How do I assemble iSandBOX?

    The detailed instructions describing how to build a sandbox step by step should be included with your iSandBOX. All necessary tools and fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers) are also included. If anything is lacking, please contact our technical support service. Every product is assembled, tested, reassembled and packed before the shipment.

  • How do I receive and start using iSandBOX Software?

    When purchasing iSandBOX Small or software, study the computer requirements  and make sure your system complies to them. After the purchase, your manager is going to send you a link to download the installation program, together with personal ID and password to activate your software license. If required, UTS technical support is available to help with installation and calibration of iSandBOX Software remotely.

  • What warranty do you provide?

    The warranty period for iSandBOX is 12 months. If any component of iSandBOX fails during this period, UTS will replace it absolutely free of charge. We assume all the expenses for replacing the failed unit, including shipping costs. The warranty does not cover physical damage or failure caused by moisture penetration or low temperatures. Warranty card with all the details and conditions is included with your iSandBOX.

  • Can iSandBOX be manufactured in a different housing of different dimensions?

    Yes, it is absolutely possible. UTS has extensive experience in designing and manufacturing equipment and branding. We can develop an individual housing using various materials: metal, glass, plastic, wood, rubber, leather and other.

  • What is the production period for iSandBOX?

    The production of iSandBOX takes 20 business days.

  • What are the delivery terms for iSandBOX?

    iSandBOX is usually delivered by Air Freight in a wooden container, to the closest international airport or door-to-door. Sea or Land freights are also possible for larger volumes. Delivery rate includes packaging, shipment, insurance and customs documents. It is calculated individually for each destination and volume.

  • How much sand is required for the Standard version?

    The recommended amount is 300-350kg, maximum is 400 kg (0.25-0.3 m3).

  • At what height should iSandBOX Lite be installed?

    The Lite version should be installed vertically, camera down, parallel to the floor, at the center of the sand reservoir. Distance between the sand reservoir bottom and the sensor should be 170-180 cm. The area of ​​the projected image changes depends on the height at which iSandBOX is installed.

  • What is iSandBOX power consumption?

    The sandbox is powered by a 220 V power outlet. The Standard and Mini versions have a computer with a 450 W power supply (bill acceptor and sensor are powered from the computer) + 270 W projector + 60 W monitor, total: 780 W. The Lite version power consumption is 720 W.

The downside is its color - the lighter the sand, the better and brighter the image projected on it. It is recommended to keep sand wet so it is easier to build with. Kinetic (polymeric) sand is not recommended, because, in our experience, in large quantities (more than 1kg) it tends to turn to stone in time if not moved around every day.

  • What should be done if the sandbox stops functioning?

    The first thing to do is to make sure that the sandbox is connected to the power outlet. If it is connected to the power outlet, then contact our technical support service, and they will help you.

  • The sandbox will be delivered in parts, will I be able to assemble it myself?

    A detailed instructions describing how to build a sandbox step by step is attached to the sandbox. The set also contains all necessary tools and fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers). Every product is thoroughly tested, assembled, installed, and tested before the shipment. The sandbox is disassembled, packed and shipped to the customer after successful testing. If you follow the instruction, the assembly should not take a lot of effort or time.

  • What the warranty do you provide?

    The warranty period for the equipment is 12 months. If an interactive sandbox, whether it is a computer, a projector, an electronic board or housing, fails during this period, then we will replace it with a new one absolutely free of charge.     Yes, it is absolutely possible. We have extensive experience in designing and manufacturing various housings. We can develop an individual housing using various materials: metal, glass, plastic, wood, rubber, leather and other. There are restrictions on the sandbox size but we will find a solution. Just set us the task, and you will get a result that will satisfy your wishes.

  • What are the technical characteristics of iSandBOX, and will they be relevant in 5 years?

    We complete our devices with powerful multimedia computers based on Core I3 processor and high-performance GF 650 graphics card. This hardware is sufficient for any computer graphics that is expedient to implement for the sandbox within the next 5 years.

  • How much sand is required for the Standard version?

    It suffices to have 350-400 kg. It is about 0.25-0.3 m3.
